A Summer Jazz Festival

Time: 2008 Jul 17 18:30 - 18:30
Summary:

As a refreshment for summer, FCCJ presents "A Summer Jazz Festival"
Thursday, July 17th, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
Yuko Gulda (piano solo), Yuya Yoneda & Miho Hazama (a duo of alto sax & piano).

Description:

Yuko Gulda is a widely acclaimed lyrical jazz pianist, based in Vienna. She has performed with some of the world's leading jazz musicians, and will be playing some jazz standards, as well as a composition by her late husband, Friedrich Gulda, "Play Piano Play." She will also perform some of her own compositions and some unusual arrangements of familiar Japanese songs. You will be astonished by the transformation of such old Japanese songs as Yuyake-koyake into really groovy jazz pieces.

Yuko Gulda together with the remarkable combination of Yuya Yoneda, a brilliant alto sax player, with Miho Hazama, a fine pianist and arranger, both favorite disciples of the famous jazz pianist, Yosuke Yamashita, promises to be a concert not to be missed.
The jazz festival opens at 6:30 p.m. and music begins at 7:00 p.m.

The 4,200 yen admission fee includes one free drink as well as a sandwich buffet which will be served from 6:30 p.m. before the concert.

Cancellation made less than 24 hours in advance will be charged in full.
