Description:"The Lifting of U.S. Sanctions Against North Korea"
With North Korea seemingly on the fast-track back to the international community some are worried that the pressure is lifting for it to answer Japan on the abductee issue. But with recognition from the U.S. came a warning from Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice that North Korea needs to "take seriously" the questions.
On Wednesday the press club will welcome Shigeru and Sakie Yokota, the parents of Megumi Yokota who at the age of 13 was abducted by North Korean agents. Megumi has become probably the most well-known face of the abductees, which Japan counts at over 100, and her parents have taken to speaking nationwide about the issue and pressuring the government to in-turn push North Korea for answers on the missing.
Don't miss this chance to hear what the Yokotas have to say about the improving relationship between North Korea and U.S., their thoughts on Japan's reaction and whether this means a step towards closure for hundreds of relatives of the missing.
Sandwich: Roast beef, tomato, pickles & olive cream cheese.
Hot Lunch: Baked golden chicken with steamed rice and broccoli.
Dining Room Special: Pan seared sea bream fillet on onion mashed potato with wild mushroom sauce.
