IT'S SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!
Summary:
A mi & her guitar
(Soft Rock Covers)
Why Ami & her guitar? Because "we are inseparable, an extension of one another" according to Ami's interview in the August 25, 2007, Japan Times.
Ami has been playing the guitar since the tender age of 5, the same time she started playing the piano and cello. Her penchant for guitar playing developed many years later when approached to play in a local high school band. She also became the lead singer of the band. Since then she has been playing folk rock, jazzy rock or ballads that are melodic and touching, thus never too hard on human ears.
In Tokyo, Ami & her guitar has performed at different venues including What the Dickens in Ebisu, the Edogawa Cultural Center, and now the FCCJ. She also performs for weddings and private parties. When not too busy performing or writing songs, travel articles and her book, she organizes concerts to help raise funds for various projects. One was the Benefit Concert for the Polaris Project (against human trafficking) at What the Dickens, Ebisu. The concert was a great success with over 100 people attending.
Ami & her guitar will bring you back a couple decades with some familiar tunes from Bob Dylan, Carole King, Crystal Gayle and much more. She will also be singing her own original tunes. Ami also sings in French and Spanish and Japanese.
