Description:

With the price of oil spiraling upwards, world aviation is coming under huge new pressures. Rising costs have surpassed all expectations, and have driven a sizable part of the world's airlines deep into the red. What better time than this to welcome Nicole Piasecki, the president of Boeing Japan and one of the foremost experts on global aviation in the Asia Pacific region.

Piasecki is coming to the club to talk about "the growth and evolution of the global aviation market" and, secondly, "Japan's role in Boeing's global growth and productivity strategy" and, thirdly, "Boeing's approach to the environmental challenge".

Serving concurrently as Vice President, Boeing International, Piasecki is a senior officer of Boeing. An engineer by trade -- Piasecki earned her BA in mechanical engineering at Yale, and obtained a master's degree in business administration from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania -- Piasecki joined Boeing in l991. Her seventeen years with the company have given her a wide acquaintance with its many facets, notably Boeing's deep and historic connections with Japan.
