Westerners who remained in Nanking and saved the lives of thousands of Chinese citizens, recorded the tragic events that took place in the aftermath of the 1937 invasion of that city by the Imperial Japanese Army. The letters and diaries of those foreigners, including the testimonies of Chinese survivors, are read by top actors in this documentary film, which features photographs and news clips of atrocities that occurred during that infamous era.
